Damage on lighting surge Question
Hi,
[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] In the above screens my ranger was getting hit with lighting surge in HM from normal enemies. In the first screen you can see the damage was/will be 129 after 3 sec. And in the second screen, (different enemy same area and same type of enemy) you can see the auctual damage is 88. Now my ranger has max armor which would be 100AL against elmental damage. If I am not mistaken, that should be half damage from elemental. Also wiki says that lighting surge does not have armor pentration. So my drawn out question is why is my ranger taking 88 damage instead of 65? And yes all armor is max. There is mostly like something I am missing but I just cant figure it out. Thanks for your help! Short answer: Spell damage is based on the caster's level, so higher level casters do more damage.
Long answer: http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dama..._Damage_Rating Actual damage = Base damage * 2^((EffDR - EffAR) / 40) Base damage = 129 EffDR = 3 * level = 78 EffAR = 100 AL Actual damage = 129 * 2^((78 - 100) / 40) = 88.1

I figured it had to do with the level of the enemies. It just threw me off because the stated damage was 129.
Thanks! |
